Iris L. Quayle
Iris is a new PhD student that joined the lab during the Fall Quarter of 2022. After getting her Bachelor's in English Literature and creative writing, she spent several years volunteering at insect collections in both Los Angeles and Davis as well as pursuing a Field Ecology certificate from Sacramento City College. She is interested in the evolutionary links between environment and adaptation in insects and allowing for a better understanding and conservation of the biodiversity. Her research will specifically focus on the systematics, trait evolution, and ecology of tenebrionid beetles in Southern Africa.
